What is Y8 Account
It's a login system for Internet users and webmasters. The main concept is to provide social features as accounts centralization and anonymity. This system significantly reduces time necessary for registration and login and is beneficial for both users and webmasters.
Y8 Account lets you connect to sites and manage your identity through the internet.
Websites will be granted only the information you decide to share with them.
What are identities?
An identity consist of information, grouped in a form.
Once you filled this form, it's very easy to connect to any other website using the same system.
No need to fill another form! You are saving time, and the process to register or login is getting much more simple.
You can edit the information of your identity whenever you want, and all the connected site will be automatically updated.

Fields in identities
When creating or editing an identity, you may want to fill in these fields :
- Nickname
- First name
- Last name
- Gender
- Date of birth (only month and year)
- Language
- Street address
- Country
- City
- State or province
- Zip code
By default, your account is granted one identity
By default, your account is granted one identity which we named "Anonymous". In addition to being able to rename or delete this one, you may create as many other identities as you wish.
Connecting to sites
When you authorize sites to access your data to Y8 Account, you will choose between identities you created before or create a new one. If you modify the information of an identity, it will be modified for all the sites associated with it.
When you want to connect to a site using one of your identity, this website will require some information from you. The website access to the information of the identity. If you do not meet the requirements, you will be able to fill in a form when you connect. It's possible that different sites require different information. For example a site might need your email only, while another one might need your nickname and your date of birth.
You will be able to view exactly what information are accessible to the listed sites, in "Sites" pages.
In order sites to uniquely identify your account among other accounts, we also send a unique identifier called `pid` (for example : 4ea5ca8f15a2a433c4000038 ) This pid is different for each site. But if you change the identity associated to one site, the pid will not change.
